Pet Friendly Hotels
Taking a family vacation is always a fun and memorable experience. What constitutes a family these days usually includes the addition of a four-legged, furry being that takes on the role as the “baby” of the family. Needless to say, we don’t always want to board our pet at the local vet; we’d much rather take them along on vacation too!
There are many more pet friendly hotels than you may think. For example, there are several common name pet friendly hotels in Georgia that accept your furry friend as one of their own. Usually these hotels will require some type of deposit or extra expense to sleep with your pet, but many owners find the fee well worth it.
Comfort Inn and its affiliates are one of the few pet friendly hotel chains in the country with branches all over the place. However, there are some strict rules in dog friendly hotels that must be followed to avoid being kicked out. Typically, there is a weight limit on your precious pooch. Most hotels will not accept pets if they are over thirty pounds. Additionally, aggressive breeds are not allowed to reside at the hotel. These include Dobermans, Rottweilers, Chows, and other dogs known to be aggressive.
Now, that doesn’t mean that there are no big dog friendly hotels. Lots of hotels will gladly welcome your oversized fur-ball as a guest, but will require that they be kept in a crate or confined in some way. You can also expect a nasty-gram from the dog friendly hotel staff if the pet disturbs other guests by barking, scratching, or making other noises that clearly interfere with the well-being of other neighbors. So before allowing your pet to stay at a hotel with you, be sure they are docile and are not easily startled.
If you plan to travel with a cat, it is usually not a problem to board your feline friend with you. You can expect to pay a deposit, but most pet friendly hotels do not even think twice about allowing a cat. Cats can’t bark and usually don’t require much maintenance.
Finding pet friendly hotels and motels can easily be accomplished by searching the internet. Nearly every major city or tourist area has at least one pet friendly hotel. You can even find pet friendly hotels that will provide supervised pet-setting at no extra cost.
